Where do you live

Peterborough

Time playing instrument

Two years two months, bought my guitar after watching a friend of ours Randle, play at an open-air gig, playing some ripping Blues.  I told him after the gig that I wanted to play an ‘axe’ and where could I get one from.  So he took me to a shop the next day and I’ve been making a fool of my self with it ever since!

Favourite Band

Black Crowes, and of course the great man him self Jimmy Hendrix.

Favourite track Grounded perform

Sunshine of your love, it just makes my hair stand on end every time we play it.

Favourite gig location

Got to be the Fiddlers Elbow in Peterborough, one cos we make the place ROCK, and two it was our first real gig as GROUNDED.

Top 3 songs ever

Voodoo chile – Hendrix
Island Girl – Elton John
The Thrill is Gone – B.B. King

Equipment used in band

Gibson Les Paul Standard, Ernie Ball Silhouette Guitars, Hughes & Kettner Tube 50 Amp and Boss
GT 3 Effects pedal (which I tend not to use theses days, as the band is to be pretty much effects free)

How did you get to be in Grounded

Leggy & I started playing in a band called Purple Tuesday, it was a fun jam band really.  We met Chris then recruited Jon (by way of a cheap jump course), we then very luckily bumped into Rhino and off we went! We really gelled as a band during the band of the year competition. Scariest thing I’ve ever done!

Tips for fellow musicians

Rehearse more than once a week!!!

Favourite joke

I am very much into visual funnies and love the sketch from ‘The Spy Who Shagged Me’, where Austin drinks Fat Bastards stool sample, he ends up with brown froth on his top lip and comes out with the classic line ‘it’s a bit nutty’!
Also the Elevator fart scene with Peter Sellers in ‘The Pink Panther’.
